We spoke with Vrej Sarkissian, CEO of L.A. Banquets and Anoush Catering, who gave us his opinions on the trends that will dominate in 2014.

Laser Cut Invitations

Whether on paper, silk, or cakes, laser cut designs add intricate eye-catching detail to any aspect of your wedding decor. Why will it be big? Vrej says, “You can easily go from lace-like cut outs to Art Deco inspired geometric patterns, and reproduce a handmade design hundreds of times over. It lets couples customize without the huge cost.”

Pastel Perfection
Soft hues of peach, pink, and mint green create an intensely romantic color palette. Pair with rose gold to evoke an opulent, Marie Antoinette inspired feel. Why will it be big? Our eyes have grown tired of the bright bolds and neons prevalent in fashion and decor these past few years. Vrej adds, “Pastels look fresh, yet refined and inviting.”

Garden Flowers
Floral decor is going to the garden with brides favoring romantic and delicate peonies, hydrangeas and ranunculus over traditional long stem roses, orchids and lilies. The look is natural, but lush arrangements that might be assembled from cuts from a garden estate. Why will it be big? "This trend ties in with pastel color palettes and is a more formal and elegant version of the rustic floral arrangements of years past,” shares Vrej.
